Book Two: The Valkyrie advances the conflict toward the dragon Fafner, while Book Three: Siegfried follows Siegfried as he reforges his father’s shattered sword and begins his quest to reach Brunnhilde.

Richard Wagner’s Ring cycle comprises four connected operas, and these issues adapt its first three parts. The sequence moves from Wotan’s bargain and Alberich’s ring to Siegfried’s quest for Brunnhilde; the concluding fourth issue is not included.
