Rom accepts Quasimodo’s offer to restore his humanity, only to discover that the villain has taken control of his Spaceknight armor. With help from Starshine and the Gremlin, Rom returns to his armored form and resumes his mission against the Dire Wraiths.
The storyline then moves to the Soviet Union, bringing Rom into conflict—and eventual alliance—with Darkstar, Ursa Major and Vanguard of the Soviet Super-Soldiers.
