This is not a symmetrical “reset to zero”—it’s a pressure tool. The best lines come when you plan the keep-pile: preserve a key utility creature (or two small bodies) and force opponents to choose between keeping a single medium threat or spreading power across multiple smaller creatures. Either way, the oversized pieces get cut.
In Commander and casual tables, Destined Confrontation plays particularly well in token/low-curve shells (where your keep-pile is naturally efficient) and in lists that can leverage the sacrifice event for value. If the board is leaning tall, this card reasserts control and buys you the turn cycle you need to stabilize or close.
